Types of ACs

There are typically three types of air conditioners (ACs) available in India:

• Window AC
• Split AC
• Portable AC
• Central AC

Window AC

A Window air conditioner or a room air conditioner is a single unit AC that requires a window or an opening to be installed typically for a single room. Available in varied sizes from 0.5 tonnes to more than 2 tonnes, Window ACs are installed at places where central air conditioner can not be installed. A Window AC is quick to be installed and most of its body part remains hanging outside the room that is to be cooled.
